The Delta variant of COVID-19 has hit chip factory employees in southeast Asia hard, forcing some plants to close and worsening the shortage.
GM has sent the Covid-19 vaccine and assistance to the chip factories in Malaysia but it is going to take time to get them back on track and producing chips at maximum capacity.
