The adventures of Flat Armando

Flat Armando

  • Man, Myth or Legend?

Since the beginning of time, men have sought out the extraordinary.  Bigfoot, the Loch Ness Monster and now Flat Armando.  Does this legendary creature really exist?  Can this fabled man’s survival be proven?  And, if found, how will he interact with modern society?

Thanks to Ron Westphal Chevrolet manager Paul Smith, we now have exclusive photos proving Flat Armando is not just an old wive’s tale.  He is real and he is here.

Flat Armando was recently sited in Princeton, IL.  And, believe it or not…a Chinese restaurant in Oswego.  The following unretouched photos prove that not only was this elusive man captured on film…he was able to capture the hearts of all who met him that remarkable night.

Will we ever see Flat Armando again?  No one knows.  “It was a magical evening”, says Paul.  “If we have learned anything from this…it was Flat Armando’s unwavering message of tolerance.  It really struck a chord with all of us.  And therefore, we plan to continue tolerating each other right here at Ron Westphal Chevrolet for many years to come.”

Flat Armando was a surprisingly great listener
Flat Armando was a surprisingly articulate and was able to suggest a plethora of viable solutions on subjects ranging from ‘world peace’ to ‘how can I get my spouse to shut up’?

This is the last known picture of Flat Armando. Totally exhausted and passed out in a stranger’s bed.  “That’s how I’ll always remember him” says Paul wistfully.  Then, in the morning he was gone…

Car Vega car delivery in the 70’s

Car delivery in the 70’s from pics

Chevy Vega car delivery in the 70’s. Cars packed on trains like upside down sardines. Who knew?

The Chevy Vega was designed in conjunction with those rail cars. The supply chain folks at GM realized that they could make the car even less expensive if they could get more cars in a rail car.

So, the design of the Vega had to be compatible with shipping vertically. Rail cars had to be specially designed and manufactured for the Vega.

The vast majority of the non-Vega cars at this time were delivered by standard rail cars though.

If you are looking for a car to be delivered to you normally, on all 4 wheels, then drop by Ron Westphal Chevrolet in Aurora, IL.  We only delivery cars right-side up.  LOL!

Flying Hammock Video

Hey, do you think if we added a couple more fans we could get a Chevy Spark to fly? LOL!

Flying Hammocks…I don’t know what they are saying, but I think we could all use a flying hammock don’t you?

When was the last time you saw a FUBAR car?

“FUBAR” Chevy Cavalier is a Twin-Engine Masterpiece

FUBAR.  I haven’t heard that phrase in years.  Remember the movie it came from?  Tango and Cash I believe.  Wow…how long ago was that?  I’ll tell you–it was Dec 22, 1989!  Nearly 30 years ago.  I don’t remember the whole movie, just bits and pieces.  And, I think it would probably be a pretty corny flick by today’s standards.  But then, what 1989 movie wouldn’t be?  Well, let’s see…there’s The Abyss, Driving Miss Daisy, Born on the Fourth of July and many more.  All released in 1989 and not quite so hokey.  OK…whatever.  I remember I enjoyed the film in 1989 even if I wouldn’t like it so much today.  And we did get FUBAR out of the whole thing.  That’s gotta be worth something, right?

Actually FUBAR is the third level of disaster. It is an unofficial military term.  This phrase did not originate in the movies.  It came to be on the battlefields.  FUBAR MEANS: ****** Up Beyond All Recognition.  And, that’s just not the case with this custom Cavalier.  Watch the video.  It’s short and interesting.

If a twin engine Cavalier is not your thing…visit Ron Westphal Chevy in Aurora, IL and check out the Chevrolet Cruze.  Only one engine and it’s a good one.  Call us today at 630-898-9630 to schedule a no-obligation test drive.
