Bruce Springsteen’s iconic ’57 Chevy is up for auction on eBay—but you need to be pretty wealthy to afford it. As of this writing, bidding is above $200,000, and the reserve price still hasn’t been met. That’s quite an increase from the $2,000 The Boss spent on the 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air convertible back in 1975, but consider the history: According to the auction listing, Springsteen wrote some of his songs while in the car; the rocker mentioned the car in his autobiography; and, as the Asbury Park Press notes, the car was pictured in both Time and Newsweek features on Springsteen. He ultimately sold the flame-covered convertible in 1976 because it drew too much attention to him; it last changed hands in 2011, when it sold for $468,000.

New Look for NHRA Pro Stock Camaro SS Gen Six bodywork takes to the drag strip in 2017, chasing repeat Pro Stock title
INDIANAPOLIS – The Gen Six Chevrolet Pro Stock Camaro SS makes its public debut at the Performance Racing Industry trade show in Indianapolis on Thursday, Dec. 8. Want something you can drive on the street? Visit Ron Westphal Chevrolet in Aurora, IL.
The new model builds on the success of the championship-winning fifth-generation-based race car. It’s more athletic-looking and aerodynamically optimized bodywork draws its styling from the Gen Six Chevrolet Camaro SS.
“Our goal was to minimize aerodynamic drag within the NHRA guidelines and incorporate as many design cues from the production car,” said John Mack, Chevrolet Camaro exterior design manager. “The result is a sleeker and more aerodynamic Camaro SS.”
The new race car makes its competition debut this February in Pomona, Calif., at the kickoff event for the 2017 NHRA Mello Yellow Drag Racing Series.
Chevrolet Pro Stock Camaro drivers won 23 of 24 events in the 2016 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series. Jason Line won eight events, capturing his third world title — and the third straight championship for Chevrolet. Runner-up Greg Anderson won eight events in a Camaro SS race car.
Track testing with the 2017 Pro Stock Camaro SS begins later this month.
In addition to the new Pro Stock Camaro SS, Chevrolet’s 2017 COPO program offers specialty race cars designed for NHRA’s Stock Eliminator classes, and earlier this fall Chevrolet announced a drag racing development program for production-based Camaro models.

Since the beginning of time, men have sought out the extraordinary. Bigfoot, the Loch Ness Monster and now Flat Armando. Does this legendary creature really exist? Can this fabled man’s survival be proven? And, if found, how will he interact with modern society?
Thanks to Ron Westphal Chevrolet manager Paul Smith, we now have exclusive photos proving Flat Armando is not just an old wive’s tale. He is real and he is here.
Flat Armando was recently sited in Princeton, IL. And, believe it or not…a Chinese restaurant in Oswego. The following unretouched photos prove that not only was this elusive man captured on film…he was able to capture the hearts of all who met him that remarkable night.
Will we ever see Flat Armando again? No one knows. “It was a magical evening”, says Paul. “If we have learned anything from this…it was Flat Armando’s unwavering message of tolerance. It really struck a chord with all of us. And therefore, we plan to continue tolerating each other right here at Ron Westphal Chevrolet for many years to come.”
FYI–I don’t want to misrepresent…this did not happen at Ron Westphal Chevy, although we have seen similar situations here. We have many customers with a variety of challenges, both physical and mental, who visit us regularly. We are grateful for all our clients and I’m proud of entire Ron Westphal Chevrolet staff on their fair and friendly treatment to all.
General Motors has made its largest renewable energy procurement to date, purchasing enough wind power to equal the electricity needs of 16 of its U.S. facilities, including business offices in Fort Worth and Austin, Texas, a major assembly and stamping complex in Arlington, Texas, and 13 parts warehouses east of the Mississippi River.
Diesel engines differ from gasoline engines in important ways. To see a diesel engine in action and learn the mechanics of how diesel engines intake and compress air see below.
Diesel Engines vs. Gasoline Engines
In theory, diesel engines and gasoline engines are quite similar. They are both internal combustion engines designed to convert the chemical energy available in fuel into mechanical energy. This mechanical energy moves pistons up and down inside cylinders. The pistons are connected to a crankshaft, and the up-and-down motion of the pistons, known as linear motion, creates the rotary motion needed to turn the wheels of a car forward.
Both diesel engines and gasoline engines covert fuel into energy through a series of small explosions or combustions. The major difference between diesel and gasoline is the way these explosions happen. In a gasoline engine, fuel is mixed with air, compressed by pistons and ignited by sparks from spark plugs. In a diesel engine, however, the air is compressed first, and then the fuel is injected. Because air heats up when it’s compressed, the fuel ignites.
Thank to Veterans. “Thanks to all who put—and have put—on the uniform looking for nothing in return. The selfless act of serving our country deserves the highest level of respect and gratitude we have to offer. When I see a veteran in public, my frown or bad mood turns into a grin and happiness knowing that our country is safe because of these men and women. May peace always be with you.” –Giovanni Moujaes

FUBAR. I haven’t heard that phrase in years. Remember the movie it came from? Tango and Cash I believe. Wow…how long ago was that? I’ll tell you–it was Dec 22, 1989! Nearly 30 years ago. I don’t remember the whole movie, just bits and pieces. And, I think it would probably be a pretty corny flick by today’s standards. But then, what 1989 movie wouldn’t be? Well, let’s see…there’s The Abyss, Driving Miss Daisy, Born on the Fourth of July and many more. All released in 1989 and not quite so hokey. OK…whatever. I remember I enjoyed the film in 1989 even if I wouldn’t like it so much today. And we did get FUBAR out of the whole thing. That’s gotta be worth something, right?
Actually FUBAR is the third level of disaster. It is an unofficial military term. This phrase did not originate in the movies. It came to be on the battlefields. FUBAR MEANS: ****** Up Beyond All Recognition. And, that’s just not the case with this custom Cavalier. Watch the video. It’s short and interesting.
If a twin engine Cavalier is not your thing…visit Ron Westphal Chevy in Aurora, IL and check out the Chevrolet Cruze. Only one engine and it’s a good one. Call us today at 630-898-9630 to schedule a no-obligation test drive.
