2023 chevy trailblazer production start date

2023 chevy trailblazer production start date is announced

2023 chevy trailblazer production start date

The 2023 Chevy Trailblazer is set to arrive as the third model year of the latest third-generation nameplate, which was initially introduced as an all-new small crossover for the 2021 model year in the United States. Now, GM Authority has learned when production of the 2023 Chevy Trailblazer will start.

Would you like to order a new Chevy Trailblazer?  Call the Ron Westphal Chevy Customer Care Team at 630-898-9630 for details.  It’s fast and easy!

According to GM Authority sources, production of the 2023 Chevy Trailblazer will start on April 24th. The Trailblazer is currently produced at two locations, including at the GM Bupyeong plant in Bupyeong-gu, Incheon, South Korea, and the GM China Dong Yue plant in Yantai, Shandong, China.

2023 chevy trailblazer production start date is announcedThe Chevy Trailblazer is offered with two engine options, namely the turbocharged 1.2L inline three-cylinder LIH gasoline engine, which produces 137 horsepower at 5,000 rpm and 162 pound-feet of torque at 2,500 rpm, and the turbocharged 1.3L inline three-cylinder L3T gasoline engine, which produces 155 horsepower at 5,600 rpm and 174 pound-feet of torque at 1,500 rpm. The 1.2L LIH connects to GM’s continuously variable automatic transmission, while the 1.3L L3T connects to either the CVT the GM nine-speed automatic transmission.

Under the skin, the Chevy Trailblazer rides on top of the GM VSS-F vehicle set.

As GM Authority covered previously, General Motors is changing up how dealers order the Chevy Trailblazer crossover, as well as the Chevy Trax. Previously, dealers would order both crossovers using the traditional “consensus” model wherein dealers would request which vehicles they wanted from the factory. This was done at regular intervals (or order cycles, aka DOSP) and gave dealers a good amount of say in which vehicles they got.

By comparison, General Motors is now moving to a “port consensus” model for the Chevy Trailblazer and Chevy Trax, wherein General Motors builds the vehicles it thinks are needed, then ships the vehicles to port, with dealers then selecting which vehicles they would like.

Also noteworthy is the Chevy Trailblazer’s recent reliability performance, with Consumer Reports giving the Trailblazer a tying score for most reliable new vehicle.

What’s new for 2023 Chevy Blazer

2023 Chevy Blazer

General Motors has pulled the veil off the refreshed 2023 Chevy Blazer, which arrives with revised front and rear fascias, different LED headlights and taillights and a new infotainment display.

Want to order a 2023 Chevy Blazer?  Call us now at 630-898-9630.

The most apparent changes applied to the 2023 Chevy Blazer have happened outside, where the mid-size crossover has received a restyled front bumper with different LED headlights and daytime running lights and a revised grille design. Customers will also be able to choose from new 18-inch, 20-inch and 21-inch wheel designs and five new exterior colors, including Fountain Blue, Sterling Gray Metallic, Copper Bronze Metallic and Radiant Red Tintcoat.

Inside, the 2023 Chevy Blazer features an all-new 10-inch diagonal infotainment screen, which is standard across all trim levels. A new wireless charging pad is also now available as an option across all trim levels and will come standard on the well-equipped RS and Premier. A new Nightshift Blue interior is now offered on RS trim levels, as well, which we imagine will appear similar to the Nightshift Blue interior offered on the refreshed 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500.

Chevy has also made some minor changes with regard to the Blazer’s active safety tech. From the 2023 model year, Adaptive Cruise Control availability will be expanded to the 2LT and 3LT trim levels. The Chevy Safety Assist package is also now standard, which brings popular safety tech such as Automatic Emergency BrakingFollowing Distance IndicatorForward Collision AlertFront Pedestrian BrakingLane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning and IntelliBeam automatic high beams.

GM’s turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY gasoline engine is standard in the 2023 Blazer 2LT, 3LT and Premier, producing 228 horsepower and 247 pound-feet of torque. The naturally aspirated 3.6L V6 LGX gasoline engine, meanwhile, is standard in the RS trim level only and available as an option in the 3LT and Premier. The LGX V6 is rated at 308 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque. Both of these engines come paired with the GM nine-speed automatic transmission with front-wheel-drive standard and all-wheel-drive available for a price premium.

Production of the 2023 Chevy Blazer will continue to take place at the GM Ramos Arizpe plant in Mexico. Pricing for the refreshed 2023 Chevy Blazer is expected to be similar to that of the 2022 model year, starting just shy of $30,000. As GM Authority reported previously, the entry-level Blazer L and LT trims will no longer be offered from the 2023MY onward.

Look for the 2023 Chevy Blazer to begin arriving at dealers in the U.S. later this year.

2022 Chevy Equinox is a better value than 2021

2022 Chevy Equinox is a better value than 2021

2022 Chevy Equinox is a better value than 2021

Pricing for the 2022 Chevy Equinox in the base LS trim level and with front-wheel drive starts at $26,995, which is $600 cheaper than the 2021 model-year Equinox. The 2022 Equinox LS with all-wheel drive is priced from $29,195, which is also $600 cheaper than its 2021 model-year equivalent. It’s a similar scenario with the 2022 Chevy Equinox LT with front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, which are both $700 cheaper than they were for the 2021 model year.

Looking for a new Equinox?  Call our Customer Care Team at 630-898-9630.

Premier AWD Turbo 1.5L I4 LYX $33,795 $34,295 -$500 +1.48%

2022 Chevy Equinox is a better value than 2021Lastly, there’s the range-topping 2022 Chevy Equinox Premier, which is priced from $32,195 with front-wheel drive and $33,795 with all-wheel drive. This is $500 less than the 2021 Chevy Equinox Premier. The 2022 Chevy Equinox RS is priced from $31,295 with front-wheel drive and $32,895 with all-wheel drive, but this model is all-new for the 2022MY and there is thus no year-over-year price change to report.

2022 Chevy Equinox is a better value than 2021There is no specific reason for the price deductions applied to the 2022 Chevy Equinox. But, 2022 Chevy Equinox is now a better value than 2021.  We imagine the lower starting price tags will be welcome news for Chevy customers, though, as the automotive industry has seen a sharp rise in average transaction prices over the past year due to low inventory levels and high demand. The 2022 Chevy Equinox also represents the first model year of the second-generation Equinox’s mid-cycle enhancement (MCE) and incorporates revised exterior styling and a mildly overhauled cabin, among other changes. Power in the 2022 Equinox comes from a turbocharged 1.5L I4 LYX gasoline engine rated at 170 horsepower and 203 pound-feet of torque.

Looking ahead, the Chevy Equinox will be joined by the 2024 Chevy Equinox EV – a new battery-electric compact crossover that utilizes GM’s Ultium platform and Ultium Drive electric motors. The Equinox EV will enter production in the spring of 2023.

The Silverado oshawa assembly plant adding a 2nd shift

General Motors has added a second shift to its Oshawa Assembly plant in southern Ontario as it looks to ramp up production of the popular Chevy Silverado HD nameplate.

If you are looking for a new or used vehicle, call Ron Westphal Chevrolet at 630-898-9630 or visit our website anytime.

The automaker began assembling the 2022 Chevy Silverado HD at the newly renovated Oshawa plant in November of 2021 and has spent the past two months or so building the truck on a single shift. In a press release published Monday, GM Canada president Scott Bell confirmed the automaker had added a second shift at Oshawa Assembly as it looks to meet the growing demand for the Silverado nameplate.

“Adding a second shift of truck production so quickly after launch continues Oshawa’s long history of speed and agility and helps GM meet strong customer demand for its largest and most important market segment,” Bell said. “And with a new, diverse workforce that includes more women in production roles, the impact of an inclusive culture is immediately noticeable the moment you step inside the plant.”

The press release issued Monday went on to profile five different women who are currently employed at the GM Oshawa Assembly plant. The automaker proudly touted its more diverse Oshawa workforce to the media earlier this month, which is made up of equal parts men and women. The Oshawa plant currently employs 1,800 hourly workers, with more jobs likely to be added once production of the light-duty Chevy Silverado 1500 begins there later this year.

The Oshawa facility underwent one of the fastest plant turnarounds in GM history, with renovation work beginning in November of 2020 and production restarting there one year later in November of 2021. The automaker had to make some concessions during this ultra-fast renovation, which is why the Oshawa plant will produce the Chevy Silverado nameplate only, and not the closely related GMC Sierra. Regardless, Oshawa Assembly remains the only GM plant that can produce both light-duty and heavy-duty trucks on the same line.

GM previously produced the Chevrolet Impala and Cadillac XTS sedans at Oshawa, however the plant was shuttered at the end of 2019 after GM decided to discontinue these two model lines. The space was used for a limited amount of parts production and to make PPE amid the COVID-19 pandemic before GM earmarked it for pickup production.

The museum was opened in 1991 in turn two at the world famous Knoxville Raceway and operates year-round seven days a week for race fans to come in and learn more about sprint car racing. An average of 30-35 open-wheel race cars are always on display and the exhibits and race cars are loaned to the museum by the owners and fabricators who have restored the race cars. Soy-based wiring coating makes your vehicle a mouse treat

soy-based wiring coating
Soy-based wiring coating? Yes, please.

Are rodents chewing up the wiring in your General Motors vehicle? It may seem like a strange, out-of-pocket question, but this is, unfortunately, becoming more of a problem among owners of later model-year vehicles.

Some years back, the world’s automakers began using soy-based wiring coating in their vehicles. In addition to reducing plastic waste in landfills and oceans, this change also brought with it some cost benefits, helping automakers squeeze more profits out of today’s increasingly complex and expensive vehicles.soy-based wiring coating

Unfortunately, rodents seem to think the soy-based coating is rather tasty, with more and more vehicle owners reporting that rats and other critters are chewing through their vehicle’s wiring. Toyota even had a class-action lawsuit filed against it over this issue, with plaintiffs accusing Toyota of using the soy-based coating despite knowing rodents are attracted to the material. It’s not just Toyota, either. A quick Google search will turn up complaints from owners of various vehicle makes, including Kia, Honda and Ford, among many others.soy-based wiring coating

So, with that in mind, we figured we’d ask our readers if rodents have been chewing up the wiring in their General Motors vehicle as of late. While it’s not clear how many GM vehicles feature soy-based wiring coating, this material has become widespread in the automotive industry over the years and is used by a variety of suppliers. If rats seem particularly attracted to your vehicle’s underbody or engine bay, the problem could be related to extra tasty soy-based wires.soy-based wiring coating

The internet is full of DIY solutions for tackling this problem. David Albin, who created a website dedicated to preventing rats from chewing on car wires, says the best solution is to leave your hood up at night, place Tomcat rat traps on the tops and bases of the tread of the two front tires and spray Rodent Defense into the engine compartment. Owners can also hang string lights near their two front tires to deter the would-be nibblers.

While rats have always chewed on car wires, Albin told Car and Driver in a 2018 interview that he believes the use of soy-based wiring has made the problem worse.soy-based wiring coating

“I certainly believe that soy-based wiring has exacerbated this problem,” he told the publication. “I was curious about this as well, so I started emailing and contacting mechanics across the country. The common consensus was that rodent damage in cars has increased exponentially over the last 10 years.”

Car Bravo not to be confused with Johnny Bravo

  • GM announced today that it will start a used-vehicle selling website that it’s calling CarBravo, which will leverage its dealer network and the approximately half-million used vehicles they have in stock.
  • Customers will be able to shop online or at a GM dealership, and either way they can shop for vehicles in stock at dealers across the United States.
  • GM will use Black Book to arrive at dollar figures and will give “guaranteed online offers” to buy customers’ vehicles even if they don’t buy another one using the website.
  • Any questions, please call our Customer Care Team at 630-898-9630 for details.
Car Bravo not to be confused with Johnny Bravo
Car Bravo not to be confused with Johnny Bravo.  LOL!

UPDATE 1/12/2022: A General Motors spokesperson contacted by Car and Driver confirmed that GM’s policy about leased-vehicle returns “remains in place” for 2022. That policy, which started last summer, states that people at the end of their lease terms with a GM vehicle are not allowed to sell it to a company or buyer outside the GM network but must return it to a GM dealer.

Car Bravo not to be confused with Johnny Bravo
Car Bravo not to be confused with Johnny Bravo.  LOL!

It was probably inevitable: General Motors is responding to the huge uptick in used-vehicle prices and the growing popularity of websites that buy and sell used cars, and it’s starting its own site. GM’s CarBravo website is set to begin doing business this spring, and dealers are being enrolled now, the automaker announced today.

The strength of a GM sales website is in the company’s enormous network of some 4200 dealers. As Automotive News pointed out today, those dealers have 400,000 used vehicles in inventory each year, and GM Financial has another half a million. Carvana, which saw 74 percent growth year over year as of late 2021, said in a report that it sold 111,949 used vehicles to customers in the third quarter.

Not Johnny Bravo - Car Bravo
Not Johnny Bravo – Car Bravo

GM said it will offer CarBravo buyers “standard warranty coverage” and trial subscriptions to OnStar and SiriusXM for some vehicles, without giving details. Of course, the company points out that the buyers are welcome to use GM’s Financial unit and its network of service and maintenance facilities through its dealerships.

It’s interesting to consider that in July 2021, citing the global chip shortage and the desire to support its dealers, GM made it the rule that lease holders could no longer sell their vehicles outside the GM dealership network at the end of the term, which should help to bolster the available inventory on CarBravo. We have reached out to GM to determine whether that policy will continue in the future.

Some dealers will offer at-home test drives and home delivery. Customers will be able to buy completely online, completely through a dealership, or a combination of the two. GM also says it will buy customers’ vehicles, relying on Black Book numbers, with “guaranteed” offers, even if they don’t purchase another vehicle from CarBravo. In that, it sounds similar to Carvana and other websites that buy and sell used cars.
