FAMILY FIRST DISCOUNT PROGRAM CHANGESATTENTION:
IMPORTANT FAMILY FIRST DISCOUNT PROGRAM CHANGES. 

Effective 8/27/18, the GM Family First Discount Program will undergo several eligibility changes that will impact employees. The two audience segments that will be affected by these changes are as follows:

  • Widows/widowers of former GM employees:
    • With 5–20 years of service — are eligible for the discount and can sponsor the following purchasers: their spouse and dependent children. (Children must be under 21 years of age or full-time students under 25 years of age at time of purchase.)
    • With 20+ years of service — are eligible for the discount and can sponsor the following purchasers: their spouse, children, stepchildren, grandchildren, step grandchildren, grandparents (including in-law and step), parents, stepparents, siblings (including full, half and step), mother-/father-in-law, sons-/daughters-in-law, brothers-/sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.


Please note: this audience must self-identify by doing
the following:

  • Downloading an authorization form found on gmfamilyfirst.com on the “About” page, under the “Program Facts” FAQ’s and filling it out.
  • Obtaining proof of former GM employment (last pay stub or W2) and proof they were married to their spouse at the time of death (death certificate or obituary).
  • Emailing the completed form, along with the necessary documents detailed above, to gmvpp@gm.com in order to obtain an authorization number.
  • Former hourly GM employees:
  • With 5–20 years of service — are eligible for the discount and can sponsor the following purchasers: their spouse and dependent children. (Children must be under 21 years of age or full-time students under 25 years of age at time of purchase.)
  • With 20+ years of service — are eligible for the discount and can sponsor the following purchasers: their spouse, children, stepchildren, grandchildren, step grandchildren, grandparents (including in-law and step), parents, stepparents, siblings (including full, half and step), mother-/father-in-law, sons-/daughters-in-law, brothers-/sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
